About Word ForwardWord Forward Limited (WF) is a non-profit arts company (Reg no. 00302102W) serving the literary arts in and outside Singapore. Established in 2003 it has established itself as a leading independent presence in the Singapore literary milieu. For example through its Poetry Slam programme it has reached out to more than 70,000 people who have attended its events which has spearheaded new excitement especially among students in literary culture through performance poetry modalities. WFL s also an organiser of traditional literary events and facilitator for writers meet-ups, workshops, forums and discussions such as the free fortnightly Writers Connect and Young Writers Connect programme and now an online community and lit arts portal (http://www.writersconnect.org) since June 2004. WFL is registered as an educational provider with the National Arts Council Arts Education Programme (AEP). In 2009, WF launched the Fast and Fresh Youth Playwriting Festival which is now to be known as 'The Write Stuff Play Incubation Programme for primary, secondary and JC level students in partnership with SRT's The Little Company. In early December 2007 WF also commenced publication of literary and will soon embark on educational titles. WF's first collection of four poetry books was launched during the Singapore Writers Festival 2007.
In July 2009, WF is launching Lit Up Singapore together with the National Arts Council, a young writers, readers and performers festival to celebrate Literature and Literary Icons as well as diverse voices of youth.
